Reframe 2 Eye on the Frontier Media Studies Conference:
As Conference Coordinator for the Reframe 2 Eye on the Frontier Media Studies Conference at Malaspina University, Nanaimo, BC I contributed to the conference framework and formation of the speakers list. Responsibility for correspondence with guest speakers, programming, promotion and logistical organization of conference events were also under my charge.
Ear On The Frontier Music Showcase:
As event coordinator for The Ear On The Frontier Music Showcase I was responsible for contact and coordination of music artists, flyer design, show promotion, and evening stage management.
New Forms Festival 2006
As Volunteer Coordinator for 2006’s New Forms Festival in Vancouver, BC I recruited, scheduled, and corresponded with festival volunteers. I managed the music visual series admissions and Art Camp registration desk. I created and managed a volunteer newsletter to correspond with volunteers over festival needs and to relay their roles and responsibilities for the festival’s art exhibit, the music visual series at Open Studios, and the Art Camp.
Gateway To The Ethereal
As part of a showcase for artists Carla Rae Gilday, Jamie Look and Claudia Medina, I was the feature DJ for Gateway To The Ethereal. As part of Yellow Knife’s Snow King Festival, this event was a multi-media event held in the Ice Castle on Great Slave Lake.
Holding Together Film Series:
Looking at culture through the camera I initiated, organized, promoted and managed an ethnographic film series for Vancouver Island University faculty, students and associates. (This film series continued at Vancouver Island University under the title Worldbridger Film Series)
Women of the Middle East Film Festival:
As program coordinator for the Women of the Middle East Film Festival at Vancouver Island University I initiated, organized, promoted and managed these two film series for VIU faculty, students and associates.
Studio B Gallery
As gallery curator for Studio B on Gabriola Island I hosted and curated art shows, managed opening, which incorporated musical and spoken word offerings. Responsibilities included liaising with artists, show promotion, flyer design and assisting with show prep, and sound tech.
Creek Daze Celebration 2005:
As Event Coordinator for Roberts Creek community celebration Creek Daze my responsibilities consisted of creating and scheduling day’s programming and managing logistics, which included a morning parade, entertainment, and vendors at the RC pier and a community dance. Duties included acquiring relevant highway permits and equipment, volunteer coordination and scheduling, poster design, and promotion.
Earthdance Vancouver 03-06:
I worked as both a sound tech and as a DJ performer for Vancouver’s annual Dance for Global Peace in Stanley Park Vancouver 2003, 04, 05
Earth Day Gabriola:
As Event Coordinator for Earth Day Gabriola, BC 2000 and 2002, 2004 I initiated, organized, and managed Earth Day celebrations for Gabriola Island. Duties included fund raising, program development, poster design, volunteer coordinating, and event promotion.
